1920

On 20 November 1920, Rudolf Mark Senior founded the Rudolf Mark & Söhne shoe eyelet factory in Spital am Pyhrn. According to tradition, his dachshund could even do maths and has therefore earned a place of honour in the logo.

1962

MARK invents the ski boot buckle. The days of racing down the slopes in laced leather boots are coming to an end. The company now employs around 100 people.

2000

In the 1980s, MARK enters the automotive industry - the company grows rapidly. In 2000, construction work begins on the new site in Gleinkerau. At the ground-breaking ceremony, the employees form a symbolic foundation along the boundaries of the building.

2001

June 18, 2001. After only six months of construction, the new building is ready: a studio for our technical specialists and creative thinkers. In an area of over 12,000 m2, we are now working on new ideas and developing innovative products.

2008

MARK Hydraulik GmbH is founded in Spital am Pyhrn on March 1, 2008. The focus is on the development of lightweight hydraulic components, which are used in the aviation industry, for example.

2011

March 2011: The next innovation is imminent: MARK Save A Life GmbH is founded. The company develops safety equipment for a wide range of areas, such as occupational safety, rescue at height, self-rescue and outdoor use. Soon, well-known companies will be among the customers: Strabag, Liebherr, INNEON and IKEA.

2013

With the founding of MARK Metal d.o.o. in Slovenia, the first location abroad is opened up.

2016

MARK continues to grow. A new, more modern and larger company building is opened in Slovenia. The new site in Ptuj works closely with the automotive industry. The building in Spital am Pyhrn is also expanded by 10,000 m2, with the ground-breaking ceremony taking place in the fall.

2017

Christina Rami-Mark, the daughter of Managing Director Rudolf Mark, joins the family business and prepares to take over in 2020.

2019

MARK founds a joint venture in China.

2020

We celebrate 100 years of MARK. 100 years of innovation and family tradition. Christina Rami-Mark takes over the management of the company. Rudolf Mark continues to support her with advice and assistance.

2021

MARK's entry into the world of e-mobility.

2023

In 2023, we successfully enter the cosmetics industry.
